Description
These are perfect for making memory blankets for the theme park for signatures. You can make a bunch and have the kids run around getting character signatures and on the way home or at the hotel each night you can have fun discussions to fill out each persons cards after the trip is done. This pattern is so versatile. You can stitch it right into the blanket and take the blanket, you can stitch it like I did into blocks, or you can also add a piece of light weight vinyl before the final satin stitch and make them into coaster. I skipped the final satin stitch and made the blocks that will applique down onto my blanket with the final satin stitch when I get home but these could also be put into coasters or anything else once I get home too if we have too many for the blanket.
Making as a one piece of fabric quilt: Simply take a strait line and make a placement mark on your quilt fabric piece for where the applique boxes will stitch down as you rehoop your fabric to put the applique in each of those spots.
Stitching Quilt blocks… hoop your fabric for the base block color then applique down the design. This is a standard placement, tackdown, and then the design words then the satin stitch.
I stitched the outline box and words over Vinyl Fuse fabric and plan to applique it onto the blanket later when we return
