Description
This is an amazing game board with chess pieces that is done in the hoop and some minor sewing. Perfect for play or teaching cognitive processing and strategy. Lets not forget dexterity by being able to place and put pieces down.
This is a project to love year after year and can be folded up and taken with you. Perfect for playing on road trips as the pieces snap on the blocks. This is also a great game for quiet play or for family time so put it down on the floor and get playing 🙂
There is a text file in the .zip that outlines the stitching instructions as well as photos of the files. There is not a huge amount of stitches but there is a bunch of files to construct this project. My suggestion is to hoop a very sturdy cutaway and stitch one then patch the hole and continue on so you dont have to keep hooping. I will show this on the video on how to assemble the chess board after I film the chess board assembly live video on Green Roof Farms DIY FB Group.
Designs for:
32 embroidery word pieces blocks
32 blank blocks (constructs 8 blocks by 8 blocks)
32 chess pieces
You will use a sewing machine to sew the blocks together:
First row is rook, knight, bishop, queen, king, bishop, knight, rook
Second row is pawn, pawn, pawn, pawn, pawn, pawn, pawn, pawn
Third row is block, block, block, block, block, block, block, block
Fourth row is block, block, block, block, block, block, block, block
Fifth row is block, block, block, block, block, block, block, block
Sixth row is block, block, block, block, block, block, block, block
Seventh row is facing opposite first; pawn, pawn, pawn, pawn, pawn, pawn, pawn, pawn
Eighth row is facing opposite second; rook, knight, bishop, queen, king, bishop, knight, rook
Bonus, there is a few 360×200 files in there which are several blocks merged into a larger hoop for more convenience in stitching if you have a large hoop.
